Ptosis Crutches
A ptosis is the drooping of the eyelid which cannot be raised or can only be raised for a short period of time and with a lot of effort. If the eyelids hang low enough, the person can’t see which is very debilitating. Causes for a ptosis include systemic conditions, trauma, muscular, neurological as well as aging. In the past, metal ptosis crutches have been used to raise the eyelids while wearing spectacles, but they were neither comfortable nor adjustable. At our practice, we have developed lightweight, adjustable, and cosmetically appealing ptosis crutches based on an innovative design learned from a Mr. Rob Barrow at SpecCare in Exeter. This wonderful design has helped many people to enjoy a better quality of life.
ADD-ONS FOR YOUR SPECTACLES
Custom-made Clip-ons
We import materials from France, enabling us to make Custom-made Clip-ons for virtually any spectacle and design. Therefore, we are able to use optically-correct lenses as opposed to cheap, moulded plastic lenses for sun-filtering. The versatility of the design enables us to create not only sunglass lenses but also prescription lenses that can clip over any existing pair of spectacles. For example, a pair of blue light blocking computer clip-on lenses which would be worn over a multifocal, providing a much safer and more comfortable way to work for extended periods. There are endless applications for this unique custom-made design of Colour Clip.
PROTECTION FOR ALL EYES
Low Vision Sunglasses
Patients with eye conditions like Macular Degeneration and Macular Dystrophy benefit tremendously from filtering out irritating light. This design of sunglasses fits over existing spectacles, and so patients are able to use their Low Vision spectacles with or without a tint as needed. The Low Vision Sunglasses provide wrap-around protection. The sunglass lenses are specifically designed to enhance vision, provide comfort and ensure protection for specific ocular disorders.
